Contests, Endorsements, and Shows, Oh My!

Hey everyone,
News, finally! Album progress is continuing. After basically a semester long break to focus on school, the record has been moved into mixing. Jeff (the recording engineer I've been fortunate enough to work with) and I are done with two tracks so far, and are making slow but sure progress.
Second, a new contest is up! The winner will be featured in ragged magazine, the official magazine of American Rag. The clothing line recently endorsed the band for our last show. Please check out the contest and vote early and often! The link to voting is on the left side of the page.
The American Rag Style Sessions - the showcase for the above contest (and fashion show) is on April 18th (2:00pm) at Macy's in the Briarwood Mall of Ann Arbor, MI. If you are close, come out for the show!

So needless to say, the release date for Second to Dream is at this a point on the other side of a galaxy of unknowns. It has been infinitely pushed back, and I promise I won't blow any more anticipated dates until we are actually really close to the release. We still need to lay down a few guitar solos and backing tracks and both our time and studio time are hard to come by with school and studio use being what it is. But when the album finally does come out, you will be glad you waited (and glad we did too)...
But the music goes on! We have a couple of shows coming up on campus at U of M, with our brand new lead guitarist Brian. He is awesome and it is a pleasure to be playing with him. Keep checking DFM (http://www.dannyfreemanmusic.com) or the myspace (http://www.myspace.com/dannyfreemanmusic) for upcoming shows posted so far.

Annndddd the new album progress: We have had a grueling couple of weeks in the studio, knocking out tracks and parts until our fingers bleed and our ears burn (just kidding). We expect recording and editing to be done by mid July with an anticipated release date in August pending some mixing and mastering. Stay tuned and thanks for all the enthusiasm and support!

Serious recording is really happening in the next several weeks, and I am hoping for a release in July. I am also pleased to announce a very exciting lineup change. I now have the pleasure of playing with Mark Peter on bass; he is excited to join Ben and myself in world domination... muaahhh
Anyway, Andrew is no longer playing shows with us (it was clean in case anyone is wondering) so now he can focus on his other tons of obligations here at Michigan... I'm very sad to see him go, but everyone can get stoked to see Mark at our upcoming shows following the album release, he rocks.

Thank you so much for all your help and voting in the last couple of days since the mtv campus invasion competition began, it was off to a great start! Late last week the hosts brought some unfortunate legal issues to my attention that pose a problem if I were to win, and as a result I have elected to drop out of the contest. :(
